Indian Coast Guard apprehended seven Sri Lankan fishermen when they were fishing in Indian territorial waters near Thoothukudi. They will be brought to Thoothukudi tonight according to coast guard sources. AIR correspondent reports that Sri Lankan fishermen were apprehended by Indian Coast Guard when they were fishing 150 nautical miles off Thotthukudi Coast. <br/><br/>The Indian Coast Guard men were patrolling in Coast Guard Ship Vaibhav when they confronted the Sri Lankan fishermen in Indian waters. The fishermen hailing from Chilaw-Neercozhumbu in Lanka were apprehended and their fishing boat was detained. <br/><br/>They will be handed over to Tamil Nadu Coastal Security Group police in Thoothukudi. Earlier 38 fishermen from Tamil Nadu released from Lankan jail reached home last night. Sri Lanka has released Indian fishermen apprehended by Lankan Navy on humanitarian grounds, but has detained more than 133 fishing boats as deterrent measure.
