Indian challenge ends at Federation Cup Tennis tournament at Astana in Kazakhstan today

The Indian challenge ended at the Federation Cup Tennis tournament at Astana in Kazakhstan today.

It finished fourth after losing the classification tie, 1-2 to South Korea. Injured Karman Kaur Thandi did not play.

Captain Vishal Uppal had handed national champion Mahak Jain her Fed Cup debut after a groin strain forced Karman out of the tie. She, however,lost 2-6, 6-3, 1-6 against Na Ri Kim.
 
Ankita Raina levelled the tie, 1-1, after she outplayed Sunam Jiong 6-3, 6-3.
 
The Doubles game became decisive, but Ankita and Prarthana Thombare lost the match, 4-6, 4-6 to the team of Su Jeong Jang and Kim.
