Indian boxers made a good start at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar. Asian Silver-medallist Vikas Krishan and Shiva Thapa notched up comprehensive victories in 75 and 56 kilograms respectively to enter the pre-quarters. Shiva out-punched Algeria's Khalil Litim 3-0. Later, Vikas also sailed past Hungary's Zoltan Harcsa 3-0 to make the last-16 stage.However, it was curtains for Manoj Kumar in the 64 kilograms category in the very first round as he was stunned 1-2 to Abdelhak of Morocco.
