Internationally acclaimed Indian artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik has created world's longest sand sculpture of reclining Buddha in Sri Lanka. The sand scuptor created a 40-foot long statue of lord Buddha in Diyawanna Vesak Zone near the Parliament complex on Wednesday. Pattnaik was invited by the High Commission of India to participate in the 14th International Vesak Day Celebrations organised by the Sri Lankan government. The 40-year-old artist had recently won the jury prize gold medal at the 10th Moscow Sand Art Championship 2017.
