An Indian Army team of ten climbers has climbed the highest peak Mount Everest today .The team included four female officers and six non commissioned male officers who reached the summit of around 4am.
The four female officers are Captain Namrata Rathore, Major N. Linyu. Captain Deepika Rathore and Captain Smitha.
The Indian Army Women ‘s Everest Expedition today successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest early this morning. Major N. Linyu was the first among the four lady officers to reach the summit after a nine hour climb from Camp 4 known as South Col. Among the six noncommissioned male officers , who scaled the top of the world today, Subedar Rajendra Jalal became the first Indian to scale the 8848 metres peak without oxygen.
He had summitted Everest earlier in 2003 and had also five eight thousand meter peaks . Reports state that with bad weather hampering , the window of opportunity has been very less for reaching the highest peak . The first Summit this season took place last weekend and today and tomorrow are the better days for climbing the highest peak.
More than 200 climbers are expected to climb during the forty-eight hour window with more than fifty climbing today itself .
