Indian Army organizes "Veer Kutumb Rally" in J&K's Akhnoor

In Jammu and Kashmir, Crossed Swords Division organized a "VEER KUTUMB RALLY" at Tanda, Akhnoor with an aim to reach out to veterans, veer naris, widows and their families. The Rally was organised by the Indian Army as part of its activities to observe 2019 as the 'Year of the Next of Kin'.  General Officer Commanding (GoC) Crossed Swords Division, Maj Gen R. Dewan, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. AIR Correspondent Vijay Bajaj reports that large number of ex-servicemen and Veer Naris took part in the rally during which they were briefed about their rights. While addressing the gathering Maj Gen R. Dewan said that no incentive can ever compensate the sacrifice of soldiers and their kin.<br />''<br />''While addressing the gathering president, J&K Ex-Servicemen League, Maj Gen (Retd.) Govardhan Singh Jamwal said that Modi Govt is taking many steps for the welfare of Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naaris and the pension of veer naaris has been increased manifold.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;"><br />''A free medical and dental camp was also organized. On the occasion, scooties, wheel chairs and some other household items were distributed to disabled soldiers and kins of the martyrs.</span><br />
