Indian Army is facing a shortage of 9,106 officers while the Indian Navy faces a shortfall of 1,467 officers. In a written reply to Rajya Sabha, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said there is no shortage of officers in the Indian Air Force.<br/><br/>He said, the needs of security are being met by the optimum utilisation of the available strength by prioritisation of activities, use of technology and reliance on high motivation of the personnel.
