As the Pakistani troops violated cease fire agreement on three occasion during the last two days, the Indian Army has lodged a strong protest with the Pakistani Army over the latter’s latest bout of unprovoked firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu region, terming it as an act aimed at escalating tensions on the border. According to official sources the local battalion commanders held a flag meeting at a forward post in Chakan-Da-Bagh area of Poonch yesterday wherein Indian side conveyed in strong terms that the repeated violation of cease fire and firing from across the Line of Control was causing tensions. However, Pakistani side as usual denied having resorted to any unprovoked firing on Indian forward posts. Over 120 mortars and rockets were fired by Pakistani army in the worst ever shelling and firing for 11 hours on forward Indian positions in Krishna Ghati and Jhalas sectors in Poonch district during the intervening night of 28th and 29th September and in the wee hours yesterday.
