Defence Minister A K Antony today said, government was committed to equip the Indian army with all possible steps to protect the country's security. Speaking at the launch of the on-line billing of Ex-Service Men Contributory Health Scheme in Kochi, he said, Indian Army is one of the best in the world and it is one of the most sought after by many countries for defence co-operation.

At present, he said, the Indian force has got defence co-operation with 45 countries. Indian army is ready 24×7 to face any challenge, he said,
adding, as a matter of policy India will not indulge in any confrontation with other countries. But, at the same time he said, we will not allow an inch of our land to be taken away. Indian Armed Forces are ever ready to protect the integrity of the country, Mr. Antony said.

Later talking to reporters , Mr. Antony said, no leniency would be shown to anyone found guilty on the complaint filed by a Navy officer's wife alleging that she had been harassed by her husband and his seniors. He said, the Defence Ministry treats this type of complaint very seriously and he has sought a report from the Navy on the complaint.
