Vice-Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen MMS Rai today flagged off the Indian Army Everest Massif Expedition to scale Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse at a function in New Delhi. The 30 Member Expedition Team is being led by Lt Colonel RS Jamwal, a reputed climber.The team will reach Everest Base Camp on 14th of next month and make summit attempts between 16 to 30 of May.On completion of the expedition the team will return to Delhi on 10th of June 2016. This is the same Expedition team which was located at Everest Base Camp when tragedy struck Nepal on 25th of April last year with a 7.9 Magnitude earthquake causing havoc and destruction.
