India women wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik grab Rio 2016 berths

Two Indian women wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik have qualified for Rio Olympics. In the Olympic world qualifying tournament at Istambul in Turkey, Vinesh sealed her place for the Olympic berth when she defeated Avin Demirhan of Turkey 12-2 in the 48 kg category in the semi final. Vinesh will now fight for gold medal against Ivona Neena Matkovaska. Sakshi Malik also entered the final in the 58 kg category and qualified for Rio Olympics. In the Semi-final today, Sakshi beat Len Jhang in a tough encounter. She will play against Russian Valeria Koblova Jholobova in the final.In all, six women wrestlers were competing in this tournament, but four of them lost early. Tomorrow, male Indian free style wrestlers will fight for adding to India's quota in the Olympics scheduled in August this year.
