India wins two silvers in rowing, one bronze in fire pistol shooting

India on Thursday bagged two silver medals in Rowing and one bronze in Shooting, taking their medal tally in the Guangzhou Asian Games to 1 Gold, 7 Silver and 8 Bronze.In men's four event rowing, India's Anil Kumar, Saji Thomas, Ranjit Singh and Jenil Krishnan finished second behind Gold medallist China. The other silver today was won in the lightweight men's four event, by Lokesh Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Rajesh Kumar Yadav and Satish Joshi. China again clinched the Gold, and Hong Kong the bronze.In Shooting, India's Vijay Kumar won bronze in men's 25m center fire pistol event. China claimed gold while South Korea bagged bronze.Indian men's 4X100 metre medley relay team have qualified for the finals. The quartet of Rehan Poncha, Sandeep Sejwal, Virdhawal Khade and Aaron D'Souza will compete in the final later on Thursday.In Tennis, Sania Mirza sailed into the pre-quarterfinals of the women's singles Tennis event.Hosts China lead the games with 106 Gold, 41 Silver and 38 Bronze. South Korea is second with 32 Gold, 25 Silver and 37 Bronze. Japan at the third spot has won 18 Gold, 42 Silver and 37 Bronze. India is currently placed eleventh on the medal tally.
