India wins Silver & Baaronze in Power lifting

Indian powerlifters have won a silver and a bronze on the second day of the World Open Powerlifting Championships in Gurgaon today. P. Suresh won the silver medal in the 56 kilogram category, while Rana Shyam Singh beat off stiff competition from compatriot Raja Vimal to clinch the bronze in the 60 kilogram category. Suresh lifted 627.5 kilogram to finish second behind gold-winner Sergey Fedosienko 715 kilogram of Russia. Shyam Singh and Vimal were tied at third with a total lift of 640 kilogram but the former won the bronze due to his lighter body weight. Chinese Taipei's Hsieh Tsung-Ting won the gold in the 60 kilogram category.
