India wins five ODI series against Kiwis

India crushed New Zealand by eight wickets in the fifth and final cricket one-dayer at Chennai today to complete a 5-0 series whitewash. The visitors elected to bat after winning the toss, but Indian bowlers bundled out the Kiwis for only 103 runs in just 27 overs. It was the lowest total for New Zeland against India in ODIs. Chasing a meager 104 for a win, the home side got past the target with 28.5 overs to spare. Parthiv Patel on 56 and Yuvraj Singh on 42, remained unbeaten. Yuvraj won the Man of the Match honour, and Stand-in-Captain Gautam Gambhir was declared the Man of the Series. It is India's second instance of a 5-0 series whitewash against any country, having achieved the feat against England in 2008-09. It is also the best ever victory against New Zealand by India in one dayers.
