India registered their 100th Test victory and also clinched the top spot in the ICC Test rankings when they thrashed Sri Lanka by an innings and 144 runs in second Test match at Green Park, Kanpur today. With this win, the hosts took an unassailable lead of 1-0 in the three-match series. This victory is India's third biggest victory in terms of innings.The visitors, who were playing the follow-on, bundled out for 269 runs in their second innings. Harbhajan added a couple of wickets to his kitty while debutant Pragyan Ojha bagged two wickets. Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh chipped in with a wicket each. For Sri Lanka, Thilan Samaraweera played the lone hand with an unbeaten 78 and added 73 runs with Ajantha Mendis for ninth wicket. Yuvraj Singh broke the partnership and Ojha wrapped up the match with the wicket of Chanaka Welegedara. In India's first and only innings in the match, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag struck centuries to post a mammoth score of 642 runs for India. Pacer Sreesanth marked a superb comeback into the national side with a five-wicket haul in Sri Lanka's first knock. The Kerala pacer was declared man-of-the-match for his magnificant bowling.
