India win toss, put Wi to bat in Barabati ODI

In the first one day international cricket match between India and the West Indies, hosts India have won the toss and opted to field at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha. The West Indies were 46 for 1 in 7 overs when reports last came in. The Indian team, which is already without the services of Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan, are playing without MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Praveen Kumar in today's day-night encounter. All the three players have been rested for the first three ODI's in this 5-match series. Virender Sehwag is leading the Indian side, in the absence of MS Dhoni. Middle-order batsman Yuvraj Singh, who is suffering from a lung infection, has been dropped from the tournament. New comers, Umesh Yadav, Vinay Kumar and Varun Aaron will be the seamers, while Parthiv Patel and Rohit Sharma have also been included in the playing eleven today.Team India have so far played two ODI's at the Barabati Stadium and emerged victorious on both the occasions.
