India win test series against England in Mumbai

India won the five-Test series 3-0 as they defeated England today in the fourth cricket Test by a innings and 36 runs margin.Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers with 6 wickets for 55 runs in the second innings as England were all out for 195 in 55.3 overs.This is the first time in India that a visiting team could not win the Test match after scoring 400 runs in their first innings.Ashwin had his 7th 10-wicket achievement in Test cricket tofinish with match-figures of 12 for 167. The next Test in Chennai starting December 16-20 has now been rendered inconsequential.There was no resistance from England in the morning session as Ashwin had four wickets in four overs for winning the game. England could score 195 runs in their second innings.India made massive 631 in their first innings in reply to England's 400, assisted by the double centuries by the captain Virat Kohli and centuries by Murli Vijay and Jayant Yadav. Kohli scored 235 and became the first Indian captain to score three double centuries in the Tests. Jayant Yadav shared a record 241-run stand with the Indian captain. He became the first Indian to score a Test hundred at Number 9 position.
