India win Kolkata Test by an innings and 51 runs

India won the first cricket test match against West Indies at Eden Gardens in Kolkata by an innings and 51 runs. India resumed the third day's play at an overnight score of 354 for 6 and were all out for 453 in their first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin made 124. Falling short of his double century in his maiden test, Rohit Sharma was out at 177. Giving a lead of 219 runs to West Indies, India took West Indies wickets at regular interval. The visitors were all out for 168 runs in their second inning. For India the most successful bowler was Shami Ahmed who took five wickets for 47 runs in second inning.
