India will return to a sustained growth path of 9-10 per cent: PM

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has expressed confidence that despite constrains India will return to a sustained growth path of 9 to 10 per cent.Addressing his Global Advisory Council for Overseas Indians in Jaipur today, he noted that growth centres may have to shift to Asia Pacific and assured the members that the government will reflect on all the suggestions.During the meeting the members of the council while hailing the steps taken by the government for overseas Indians called for focusing on higher education and engagement of second and third generation Overseas Indians' in India's development process.They also pitched for foreign direct investment in the retail and India's pro-active role in the discourse on globalization apart from addressing the issues of governance. Among others, a number of Cabinet Ministers and eminent overseas Indians attended the Council meet.
