India will not compromise on national security; also follows due process before initiating action against network: MoS Dr. L Murugan

<span style="color: #222222;">Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr. L Murugan said the Ministry will not compromise on national security. He added that the I&B Ministry follows due process before initiating any action against a network. He informed that the Ministry depends on recommendations from the Ministry of Home Affairs with regards to concerns on national security.<br />''<br />''Replying to questions raised by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi in the Lok Sabha, Dr. Murugan said grievances of channels relating to uplinking and downlinking guidelines are addressed by the ministry.<br />''<br />''The minister said, since 2019 the ministry has taken action of prohibiting transmission for varying time periods in respect of 15 TV channels for various violations under the uplinking and downlinking guidelines of the programme code.</span><br />
