India will continue to play crucial role in fulfilling world's food requirements, says Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar

Union Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has called upon the countries to work together in finding solutions in the Agriculture sector as the challenges are broadly the same across the globe. He said, the G20 is the right platform for the same. He said scientists, farmers, and government policies should come together for working on strategies for crop diversification and fight climate change. Addressing a media conference in Hyderabad on the sidelines of the G20 Agriculture Ministers meeting, the Minister said the three-day meeting is focusing on deliberations on world food security and nutrition security, climate change challenges, sustainable agriculture, and women in agriculture among others.<br />''<b> </b><br />''He said, it will be hasty to conclude about the effects of the climate changes that are being taken place. He further said, there is a need for deliberations with States and other stakeholders regarding crop diversity. The Minister also said, natural farming is also being given priority and efforts are underway to develop a variety of crops which can withstand climate change. He said about two lakh people are coming to India for G20 meetings being held at 50 places. Stating that while three meetings of the Agriculture sector have already been held, the current Fourth meeting in Hyderabad will deliberate on several issues including crop diversity, food security, reforms in social, and climate change solutions, agriculture planning for small and medium farmers and, digital technologies for the agriculture and digital issues.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;"> He said, India will continue to play a crucial role in fulfilling the country's as well as the world's food requirements. Ministers of State for Agriculture Shobha  Karandlaje and Kailash Choudhary and Secretary Manoj Ahuja were also present. </span><br />
