India and the World Bank on Tuesday signed International Development Association, IDA, credit of 162.7 million US dollars for Rajasthan Rural Livelihoods Project. This will finance livelihood opportunities for some 400,000 village households in 17 districts of Rajasthan. According to an official release, the funding for the Project will help improve economic opportunities for rural communities, especially women and marginal groups, in 9000 villages of the state.The agreement was signed by the Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Venu Rajamony on behalf of the Government, State Project Director, Mrs Poonam on behalf of the Rajasthan Government and Country Director India, Mr. Roberto Zagha on behalf of the World Bank.
