Minister of state for Foreign Affairs Preneet Kaur has said that India wants to help Afghan people to be able to move forward and develop. For this a lot of work has been done by India on the humanitarian and constructive areas to help create infrastructure. Speaking to AIR special correspondent on the sidelines of Afghanistan International Investment conference in Dubai today the minister said that India has invested 1.3 billion dollars in the country to create new roads, high transmission lines, power stations and organizing training programmes for Afghan people without interfering in their local politics. Earlier speaking at the Afghanistan International Investment conference in Dubai today, Preneet Kaur reiterated India’s commitment to peace and prosperity in Afghanistan, pledging the continued partnership with the country in its progress. She said that India’s development partnership with Afghanistan aims at building indigenous Afghan capacities and institutions for an effective state system that is able to deliver goods and services required by the Afghan people. Kaur said that despite attacks against Indian individuals and interests in Afghanistan, India has continued its efforts in the development of the country, which underlines country’s commitment for the national building process of Afghanistan. The minister said, with similar socio cultural context and its rich human resources and technology India can help Afghanistan in many ways. Expressing the need of collaboration between Indian and Afghan industry, she said India can help Afghan economy in Primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. She said that time has come when International community should help Afghan government to enable it to take on development challenges on its own.Apart from the foreign ministers of Australia, Italy, Afghanistan and UAE’s minister of state for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwwar Gargash the Minister of commerce and Industry, Dr Anwar-ul-Haq Ahady also spoke in the conference which was focused on the need for the investment in Afghanisatn for its development and security of the region.
