India wants entire SAARC region to be benefited from India’s growth: Khurshid

The Minister for State for Corporate and Minority Affairs Mr. Salman Khurshid has said that India wants entire SAARC region to be beneficial from India’s growth but security issues have to be taken into consideration in this regard. He was speaking during a special address organized by Indian Business and Professional council (IBPC) in Dubai on Sunday.<br/><br/>Inviting Indian Diaspora to actively participate in the growth story of India, he said, there is a lot of scope in the services sector, infrastructure, food processing and education sector and government is committed to reduce duties and taxes apart from allocating sufficient financial resources for the agriculture sector.<br/><br/>Elaborating on steps being taken to ensure inclusive growth, Mr. Khurshid explained in detail the policy initiatives that have been taken to draw minorities firmly into the national mainstream, in line with the recommendations of the Sachar Committee and the Ranganath Misra commission. He informed that as many as 90 districts have been chosen, 67 of them Muslim majority districts and a sum of 3, 700 crore rupees have been allocated for development of these districts. He added that around 650 fellowships have been granted to students and 70 educational institutions have been earmarked wherein fees for minority students will be waived. That includes the IITs and the IIMs. <br/>
