Captain Michael Clarke retired hurt after scoring 60 runs.For India, Ishant Sharma was the best bowler of the day, finishing with figures of one for 56. Varun Aaron two for 95 and Mohammed Shami two to 83 rounded off a frustrating start with late wickets. Earlier, the hosts won the toss and elected to bat.
