The High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Ashok K. Kantha inaugurated the India Visa Application Centre (IVAC) of the High Commission of India, Sri Lanka in Kandy today.<br/><br/>A press statement from the Indian High Commission here said that the IVAC at Kandy will be operational from June 1, 2010.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, the High Commissioner of India said opening of the India Visa Application Centre, Kandy would make it more convenient for the people of the region to obtain visa for travelling to India. It is hoped that this gesture would further promote the friendly ties between Sri Lanka and India.<br/><br/>The IVAC Kandy will be the third such centre established in Sri Lanka, the first two being Colombo and Jaffna.
