India, Vietnam sign Letter of Intent to establish partnership in Digital Media

<span style="color: #222222;">India and Vietnam today signed a Letter of Intent to establish partnership in Digital Media. It was signed by Union Minister for  Information and  Broadcasting Anurag Thakur and Vietnam's Minister of Information and Communication  Nguyen Manh Hung.  The Letter of Intent  envisages sharing of information and experience in establishing policies and regulatory frameworks on digital media and social networks. It also envisages  conducting capacity building and training programs for media professionals and officials in the two countries.<br />'' <br />'' On the occasion, Mr. Thakur  said that today's meeting would shape the bilateral cooperation in the field of new technologies and challenges such as the "infodemic" which all countries are grappling with during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Mr. Hung invited Mr. Thakur to Vietnam. Mr. Hung talked about enabling the journalists of both the countries to access information about the socio-economic developments in each other's nations for wider dissemination of success stories and stronger people-to-people ties.<br />''<br />''The meeting was also attended by Prasar Bharati's CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati, Press Information Bureau's Principal DG Jaideep Bhatnagar and Joint Secretary of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Vikram Sahay among other officials from the Indian side.</span><br />
