India, US reaffirm commitments to work together to address health challenges

India and US today reaffirmed their commitments to work together to address the health challenges faced by the people in both the countries. These health challenges include cancer, communicable and non-communicable diseases, traditional medicines, food and drug regulation and antimicrobial resistance. <br/><br/>Addressing the second India-US Health Dialogue in New Delhi today, Health Secretary CK Mishra said, it is beneficial for the two countries to engage on these health issues to contribute to global health objectives. <br/><br/>Director of Global Affairs at US Department of Health and Human Services, Mr. Garrett Grigsby said the Health Dialogue highlighted the many areas of ongoing co-operation. He said, both the nations can tackle problems like global health security, research on understudied diseases and access to medicines by working together. <br/><br/>On the occasion, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen scientific, regulatory and health cooperation between the two nations and the global community.
