The National Security Advisor, Mr. Shiv Shankar Menon and the visiting US National Security Adviser General James L. Jones reviewed the status of the strategic partnership between India and the USA. <br/><br/>The discussions were held in New Delhi during the two day visit of General Jones. Situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan remained the focus of discussions. <br/><br/>Besides bilateral relations, regional and global issues, International terrorism, the global governance architecture and emerging threats to international security were also discussed. The two sides discussed preparations for the State visit of President Barack Obama to India later this year.<br/><br/>General Jones had arrived in New Delhi for a two day visit of the country on Tuesday as part of the institutionalized dialogue mechanism between the National Security Advisers of India and the USA.<br/>
