India, US, Japan hold trilateral talks today

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today held a trilateral meeting with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Japanese Foreign Minister Kono Taro in New York to give momentum to their cooperation.<br/><br/>They directed their senior officers to explore practical steps to enhance co-operation. <br/><br/>During the meeting, the ministers emphasized the need for ensuring freedom of navigation, respect for international laws and peaceful resolution of disputes. <br/><br/>They underlined the importance of basing connectivity infinitives on universally recognized international norms, prudent financing and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. <br/><br/>External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj deplored North Korea's recent actions and said that its proliferation linkages must be explored and those involved be held accountable. <br/><br/>During her week-long visit, Ms Swaraj will address the annual session of the UN General Assembly on 23rd of this month.
