Amidst indication that US is open to the Islamabad's plea for a Civil Nuclear deal, New Delhi has expressed hope that the Washington will keep in mind Pakistan's track record on proliferation before taking any view on the issue. The External Affairs Minister Mr. S.M.Krishna urged the US to take on board its record on Pakistan's record on proliferation while discussing its energy needs.<br/><br/>Reaction to the report, the BJP today expressed concern on the reports and said that Pakistan cannot be trusted with to keep a nuclear commitment. Party President Nitin Gadkari urged centre to raise this issue with the US as soon as possible. <br/><br/>The Left parties have also reacted sharply to the reports. CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta said that the party against any nuclear deal between the United States and Pakistan.<br/><br/>The comments come as US hints it is ready to discuss a nuclear deal with Pakistan. US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne Peterson said that working level talks between Pakistan and Washington will be held later this week. The high level Pak delegation led by its Foreign Minister Shah Mohammed Qureshi is in Washington to hold discussions with American establishment on the issue. The American side at the talks will be led by the US Secretary of State Mrs. Hillary Clinton.
