India unveils roadmap to build new Defence technologies

A three-day conference of Defence scientists began in New Delhi on Monday. The conference will discuss areas of future research and technology and develop a road map in the strategic area. The 34th Annual Conference of the Defence research and development organization, DRDO, Scientists was declared open by the Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony. Official sources said, a wide range of topics including new emerging areas of low intensity conflict, cyber security, and energy and space security will be at the center of the discussions and separate sessions will be held for the Army, Navy and Air Force. The event also includes an award distribution function to the top scientists tomorrow. Our correspondent reports, the conference assumes significance in the backdrop of the fact that India has unveiled a new road map to build new defense technologies both for strategic as well as low intensity warfare.
