India and Ukraine are poised to further boost bilateral partnership to realise the full potential of economic relations. Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Mr. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko who is on a three day visit to India, will hold wide ranging discussions with his Indian counterpart S.M. Krishna in New Delhi later this afternoon.
Several agreements are scheduled to be signed after the talks. The two countries have already signed an agreement to intensify scientific co-operation between scientists and institutions of the two countries.
Mr. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko who reached New Delhi yesterday met the Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs. Meira Kumar last evening to discuss issues of mutual interest. He will meet the Commerce Minister Mr. Anand Sharma before leaving back home tomorrow.
AIR correspondent reports, that Ukraine is the second largest trade partner of India in the CIS region with the bilateral trade target of 5 billion US dollars. The two countries have agreed to open new vistas of co-operation in the fields of metallurgy and power. The fourth meeting of Indo-Ukraine inter governmental commission has also decided to take forward the co-operation in these areas at a faster pace.
