India, UK working towards specific bi-lateral agreement

India and UK are working towards a specific bi-lateral agreement through which civil-nuclear cooperation could be taken forward. In an exclusive interview to our correspondent Rajesh Bali in London, yesterday evening, Indian High Commissioner to UK, Ranjan Mathai said that in the field of science, India and UK are very close partners. This include civil-nuclear energy, nuclear physics and areas of this nature. UK is also joining global centre for nuclear energy partnership.<br/><br/>Mr. Mathai said that both the democratic countries have faced challenges of extremism and terrorism. He said when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet his UK counterpart David Cameroon during his three-day visit to London starting from tomorrow, they have much to discuss on these areas to chalk out future plans.<br/><br/>Terming Mr. Modi's visit as very important and a landmark step in enhancing bi-lateral relations, the High Commissioner said that security related issues would certainly be important part of proposed discussions on various topics between both the Prime Ministers.<br/><br/>He said views of both the countries for their partnership in the security field will also be covered during the visit.
