India and United Kingdom have agreed to set up a partnership fund for pro-poor renewable energy technology on priority basis.
UK Minister of State for Energy, Greg Barker met Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah in New Delhi on Tuesday and discussed the measures to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of Renewable Energy.
Both the Ministers were accompanied by high level delegations. According to an official release, Dr. Abdullah explained the various initiatives that are being taken by India in the field of Renewable Energy.
Mr. Barker emphasized the need for private investment in addition to Government funds to promote Renewables.
