India and United Arab Emirates, UAE have agreed to enhance cooperation in different areas including trade, commerce, investments, energy, defence, space, security and combating Crime. The agreements were arrived at the 11th session of the India-UAE Joint Commission meeting held in New Delhi today. <br/><br/>Briefing media Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Anil Wadhwa said, the recent historic visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to UAE has redefined bilateral relationship and elevated it to a strategic partnership. He said, the two sides agreed to increase the bilateral trade by 60 per cent over the next five years and also to encourage the investment institutions of the UAE to raise their investments in India. <br/><br/>The two sides also agreed to work for early establishment of the planned India-UAE Joint Fund for investments in the infrastructure sector in India. During the meeting, the two sides also signed MOUs on cooperation in the areas of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Tourism, Telecommunication and also between the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry. <br/><br/>Mr Wadhwa said, issue of Islamic State and Radicalization of youth was also discussed during the meeting. The Joint commission meeting was co-chaired by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and the visiting Foreign Minister of UAE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
