India, Tunisia decide to enhance cooperation in combating terrorism

India and Tunisia have decided to enhance cooperation in combating terrorism. Vice President Hamid Ansari said successfully dealing with such threats requires strong collaboration among "like-minded partners". <br/>The two sides discussed issues of spreading tide of extremism and terrorism which is a threat both countries face.<br/><br/>Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari will call on Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi in Tunis today. He will also meet several other leaders, including the President of the Islamist Ennahda party, Rached Ghannouchi. Mr Ansari will also deliver a lecture at the Al Dhiyafa University.<br/><br/>Yesterday, India and Tunisia had signed Memoranda of Understanding for co-operation in Information Technology and promotion of traditional handicrafts. The MoUs were signed after the delegation level talks between the two countries in the presence of Mr Ansari and Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid. The entire gamut of bilateral as well global issues, including terrorism, were discussed during the talks.<br/><br/>Mr Ansari will leave tonight and return home tomorrow, concluding his visit to the North African nations of Morocco and Tunisia.
