India were 190 for two in their second innings against Sri Lanka at stumps on the penultimate day on Thursday in the Ahmedabad Test, still trailing by 144 runs. Gautam Gambhir on 74 and Amit Mishra on 12 were at the crease. For India, Virender Shehwag scored 51 and Rahul Dravid made 38 runs. For the visitors, Welegedra and Herath took one wicket each. Earlier, Sri Lanka declared their first innings at 760 for seven, securing a lead of 334 runs. Mahela Jayawardana played a classic innings of 275 runs, followed by Prasanna Jayawardana who made 154 runs and remained unbeaten.
