New Delhi says it is independently verifying the reports about the presence of Chinese troops in Gilgit and Baltistan in POK. The external affairs ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash said that if the reports are true, it could be a matter of serious concern. The spokesman added that India will do everything possible to ensure the safety and security of the nation. Earlier, New York Times in a report said that Chinese have activated its airfields along the Line of Actual Control and enhanced its military presence and capabilities in the area and there are eleven thousand personnel of Peoples Liberation army deployed in that area.
