India to take on Sri Lanka Board's XI in warm-up game amid rain scare

Ahead of the three-match Test series against hosts Sri Lanka which begins next week, India is scheduled to play their lone 3-day practice game at Colombo today, amid the rain scare. The visitors are to take on Sri Lanka Board President's Eleven at 10 AM Indian Time at the R. Premadasa Stadium. The showers had forced Team India's first practice session to move indoors at the National Cricket Club yesterday, and thundershowers have been predicted for today as well.Meanwhile, before his first full-fledged assignment as Test captain following the rain-affected one-off Test in Bangladesh, Virat Kohli has said that the team will play aggressive cricket in Sri Lanka. Speaking to the press in Colombo, Kohli said, the fact that India has not won a Test series in Sri Lanka since 1993 will not matter.Speaking on the retirement of Kumara Sangakkara after the series, the Indian Skipper said that it would be an important factor in the tournament as the Sri Lankan veteran wicket-keeper batsman would like to retire on a high note. He said that the team will have to plan something special to contain him, but it would be premature to speak about that. Kohli said that Sangakkara has always been a match winner. The first Test of the 3-match series will be played on the 12th of this month in Galle.
