India to take on Bangladesh in Asia Cup T-20 opener in Mirpur today

A formidable India side will meet ambitious Bangladesh team in the opening match of the 14th edition of the Asia Cup at Sher-e-Bangla National stadium in Mirpur this evening. MS Dhoni's team is bubbling with confidence coming into the tournament on the back of a 3-0 victory over Australia followed by a 2-1 series win against Srilanka. Bangladesh hosting the Asia Cup for the third time will have Mushrafe Bin Mortaza leading the pace-bowling attack with 'cutter master' Mustafizur Rahman at his side. Though T20 is India's strongest forte, Dhoni has to be wary of the Tigers who won the ODI series between the two countries last year. In his pre-match press conference Virat Kohli acknowledged the Mustafizur factor, but said the Indian batsmen are also doing their home work well. He said the Asia Cup held in the shortest format for the first time offers the best platform to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the team ahead of the World Cup T20 in March-April in Bangladesh. India and Srilanka are two most successful teams in the 5-nation Asia Cup having won it five times each in the past.
