India to take on Afghanistan in SAFF championship

India is all set to begin its campaign in South Asian Football federation Championship in Dhaka on Saturday. The four time champion will take on Afghanistan in their first match in group A of the tournament. Defending Champions Maldives will play against Nepal in another match on Saturday. The eight nation Bangabandhu SAFF Cup began on Friday with Sri Lanka playing against Pakistan in the opening match of the tournament. Srilanka defeated Pakistan by a lone goal scored by Chatura Gunarathne from a penalty shot awarded during the match. In the second match, Hosts Bangladesh routed Bhutan 4-1. Striker Enamul Haque scored twice while his partner Zahid Hasan Emily and defender Pranotosh bagged the other goals.
