India favours equitable access to atmospheric space and will not accept any agreement which does not have this fundamental principal. The Environment minister Mr. Jairam Ramesh while addressing a two conference in Mumbai today said that India will seek support of other countries in achieving this objective in the run up to the Cancun climate change meet later this year. He said that India will take the leadership role on the issue of a global carbon budget. Elaborating on the strategy Mr. Ramesh asserted the strategy has to be based on both per capita emission principle along with per capita income. The minister said that New Delhi enjoys strong support from China, Brazil, South Africa. <br/>
