India to strengthen defence ties with Vietnam

India today reiterated its resolve to strengthen defence ties further with Vietnam saying the country is a key pillar of its act east policy.<br/><br/>During his meeting with visiting Defence Minister of Vietnam, General Ngo Xuan Lich in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi noted that the two countries have a longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship in the field of defence.<br/><br/>He said the closer cooperation between the two sides in all sectors will contribute to the stability, security and prosperity of the entire region. Mr. Modi recalled his visit to Vietnam in September this year during which the bilateral relationship was upgraded to the level of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. <br/><br/>On the occasion, General Ngo Xuan Lich briefed the Prime Minister on the progress achieved in bilateral defence cooperation.
