During his visit to San Jose, Prime Minister participated in a roundtable on renewable energy hosted by Stanford university. In his address, Mr. Modi said that India will see renewable energy revolution in next 10 years as the government plans to produce 175 giga watt of clean energy. CEOs of some of top energy companies and many experts participated in the event.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister also met the US secretary of energy, Dr. Ernest Moniz. MEA spokesperson Vikas Swaroop said the two leaders discussed various aspects of cooperation between two countries in energy sector, specially renewable energy. <br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that it is his dream to convert India into a 20 trillion US Dollar economy from the current level of eight trillion. Participating in a Q & A session with a select audience at Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, California, he said government is focussing on agriculture, manufacturing and services sectors for growth. The session was moderated by Mark Zukerberg, CEO of Facebook.<br/><br/>Answering queries on his plans to impart India faster growth, Mr Modi said, use of technology in governance and deregulation are the priorities of his government. In addition to three Ds in India, he said he wants to add another D – and that is de-regulation. The Prime Minister said, investors' confidence in India has grown over past 15 months and as a result, India has recorded a growth of 40 per cent in foreign investment as compared to a drop of 16 per cent globally.<br/><br/>He expressed confidence that India would move up substantially in Ease of Doing Business index in the next report of the World Bank because of steps taken by the government during the last one year. He said, Make in India present a good opportunity for investors.<br/><br/>Praising the role of social media in governance, he said the platform has helped in bridging informational gap between the government and the people. He said, social media provides instant feedback on government's programmes and policies which helps in course correction and modify policy framework on much faster than ever.<br/><br/>Outlining his vision for providing digital access to all, he said an equal importance is being imparted to development of digital infrastructure and physical infrastructure in the country. He said, all 6 lakh villages and two and a half lakh panchayats will be provided with broadband through optical fibre cable network. He called upon investors to avail the opportunity of investing in India's digital infrastructure growth.<br/><br/>On a question on women empowerment, the Prime Minister said, the government is taking proactive steps and the economic growth can only be realised by including them in the process.<br/><br/>The event also saw an emotional Prime Minister when Mark Zukerberg mentioned the contribution of his mother in his life. Mr Modi said, a mother will never want you to become something, she will think about how you will achieve that.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister also visited the headquarter of another IT major, Google.
