India to resume first innings at score of 239 for seven against New Zealand

India will resume their first innings at the overnight score of 239 for seven against New Zealand in the second cricket at Eden Gardens in Kolkata today. Wriddhiman Saha with 14 and Ravindra Jadeja yet to score will resume the innings. Electing to bat after winning the toss yesterday, India lost three quick wickets, that of openers Shikhar Dhavan and Muarali Vijay as well as skipper Virat Kohli. However, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane scored half centuries to rescue India from a precarious position. Pujara scored 87 while Rahane collected 77 runs. M.J.Henry led New Zealand's fight against India by claiming 3 wickets for 35 while Jeetan Patel captured two wickets giving away 66 runs.India are leading the three-match series 1-0, having won the first Test by 197 runs in Kanpur. India will regain top spot in ICC rankings if they could seal the 3 match series.This is also India's 250th home Test.
