India will push the efforts to boost inter-continental connectivity at the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting Summit, ASEM in Mongolia. The two-day Summit begins at Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia today. <br/><br/>The theme of the Summit is 'Partnership for the Future through Connectivity' and India will focus on it. Leading the Indian delegation at the Summit, the Vice President Mohmmad Hamid Ansari has reached Ulaanbaatar last evening.<br/><br/>The summit is being held in the new world environment following Britain's exit from the European Union and a global economic slowdown. <br/><br/>World leaders including the leaders of 51 member countries and the representatives of European Union and Asian are attending the summit. <br/><br/>The ASEM summit is also the first major multilateral diplomatic gathering since the recent ruling by a UN-backed international tribunal which had struck down China's claims of "historical rights" in the strategic South China Sea. <br/><br/>Our correspondent covering the Summit reports that the issue of terrorism is also likely to come up during deliberations after recent terror strike in Bangladesh and some European countries.<br/><br/>ASEM comprises of 53 entities – including 51 countries from Asia and Europe and two regional bodies – the European Union and the ASEAN Secretariat. <br/><br/>It represents around 62.3 per cent of the world's population, 57.2 per cent of the global GDP and almost 60 per cent of the world's trade.
