India today appealed to Pakistan to send Sarabjit Singh to a third country for proper medical treatment on humanitarian and sympathetic grounds. External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson said in New Delhi that India's High Commissioner today met Pakistan's Foreign Secretary and urged him to immediately release Sarabjit Singh.
Earlier, New Delhi had asked Pakistan to send Sarabjit Singh to India for medical treatment which was not agreed to by Islamabad. Sarabjit Singh who was severely injured in an attack by prisoners in Kot Lakhpath Jail in Lahore last Friday is currently admitted in a hospital in Pakistan.
