India to move amendments to US-sponsored resolution on Lanka rights violations; voting today at UNHRC

The government has announced that it will move amendments to the final draft text at the Geneva-based UNHRC to send a resolute message on the issue. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was briefed by top officials on the US-sponsored resolution on human rights violations in Sri Lanka, within hours of the announcement. The resolution will come up for voting today.
