India will host the 2016 Twenty 20 World Cup. The world cup of shortest format in cricket will be played from 11th of March to 3rd of April 2016. This was decided by, International Cricket Council Board, after its first meeting in Dubai today. In another significant decision, the ICC Board also reinstated the use of a Super Over in case of a tie in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 final, starting from 14th of next month. The Board had met today to schedule the event of ICC during the period 2015-2019.India had won the inaugural Twenty 20 world cup in 2007 in South Africa. India was also runner up of the last edition 2014 World Cup, where Sri Lanka had defeated India.
